Identify. This tool allows you to view information for a particular feature (point, line, or polygon) of a layer. After selecting the tool, choose the layer of interest from the "Active Layer" drop-down box. Then click on the feature of interest (eg., a particular road or city).
When you click on a feature, a table containing its attribute information will appear in a new browser window. Close this window when you are finished—it might get hidden behind other windows and fail to reappear when you use the "Identify" tool.
A single click may select multiple features of a layer. You may need to zoom in among the symbols to find your feature of interest.
